In The Workshop–Magazine Extenders

In this extract form The Gun Club of America’s GunTech magazine, AGI’s Jack Landis takes a look at some magazine extenders for his wife’s pistol. If you can’t find extra mags, at least you can put more rounds into the ones you have.

I’m no lawyer, but these may not be legal in states with magazine capacity laws, so check first before buying or installing.

  1. On your magazine extenders review—I would have thought that the person who taught you about gunsmithing would have also informed you that you NEVER stretch a spring. What you have done is weakened the spring in the magazine. It will eventually reduce to the original length (or start to take a set) and possibly cause a failure. The proper thing to do, would have been to test the firearm at the range (as the spring looked like it was long enough for proper functioning) and see if was OK. If it wasn’t, then the proper thing to do would be to replace the spring with a new longer one.
