If you like intimidating guns, then this shotgun is for you! The sound of a pump shotgun being loaded might scare away some of the bad guys, but I’m pretty certain no one would like to be staring down the barrels of this bad boy.

I hope many of you were able to visit the 2016 SHOT Show in Las Vegas. There were so many booths and displays that it would be impossible to spend time at all of them in the 4 days available.
I did try however, to see as much as I could. In fact the “Health” app on my smartphone shows that in the 2-1/2 days I was there I walked 15.25 miles! No wonder my dogs ached! In fact NSSF said there were 13 ACRES of product displays and booths.
This video was first shown here on Guns and Gunsmiths in 2014. We are presenting it again for the many newer subscribers that may not have seen it because we feel it contains valuable insights in how to approach your gunsmithing repairs.
In this video, Bob Dunlap and Ken Brooks show you how they analyze and think through a gunsmithing problem with a “new” rifle. Continue reading
Boyds Gunstocks have been friends of AGI and GCA for a number of years. AGI Technical Services Director Jack Landis has built a number of great Ruger 10/22s using their stocks and they even provided some stocks engraved with the GCA logo which were used a prizes for member competitions.
Well, the 2016 SHOT Show is underway in Las Vegas. It’s only noon on the first day and my feet hurt already. There is so much to see and so many booths to visit I may need a week off after to recuperate.
But enough of my complaining–here is my first report for this year. And it is some products that most of you will find of interest. Forster Products are well know by many for their reloading and gunsmithing tools and here are a few products that caught my eye.
The 2016 SHOT Show happens in Las Vegas starting Tuesday January 19 and lasts all week. This once-a-year event, organized by the National Shooting Sports Foundation, is a trade show designed to highlight new products and developments in the shooting and outdoors industry. Unfortunately it is not open to the public, but those in the firearms or related industry (including FFL gunsmiths!) are eligible to attend.
Guns and Gunsmiths will be there Tuesday and Wednesday along with our sponsors, the American Gunsmithing Institute and the Gun Club of America who will be there all week, to gather interviews with industry leaders, new product reviews, and as much other information as we can to pass on to you. The AGI/GCA booth is #2110 on the first level so if you are attending, make sure to drop by. AGI Instructors Ken Brooks, Bob Dunlap, Gene Shuey, Darrell Holland, Jack Landis and maybe others will all be there and you can talk to them, ask them questions and have a photo taken if you like.
Updates and articles will be added here over the week, so be sure to revisit Guns and Gunsmiths over the course of the show to see what we have uncovered that may be of interest to you.
“See you at SHOT!”
Darrell Holland is well known to AGI/GCA students as well as to many G&G readers as an expert in building long-range custom rifles and as an accomplished hunter.
He is making a very generous offer available to you on some very special stocks for Remington 700 rifles. These are absolutely superb stocks at an incredible discount. And there are not too many to be had, so grab one of these as soon as possible! Continue reading
